How can I track my international shipments?
We offer a real-time tracking system for all your international shipments. You can access real-time location and status information for your cargo 24/7 via GPS for road transport, and via the air waybill (AWB) or bill of lading (B/L) for sea and air freight.
Do you offer insurance services for logistics processes?
Yes. Beyond the limited scope of carrier liability (CMR, Hague-Visby Rules, etc.), we fully safeguard your financial risk by offering comprehensive (all-risk) insurance solutions that cover the full value of your cargo.
Do you also handle the customs clearance processes?
In addition to our transport services, we manage your customs clearance processes using our expertise in international freight forwarding. We resolve operational complications on your behalf by preparing export and import customs documentation, submitting declarations and monitoring the process.
What is the main difference in cost between full container load (FCL) and less than container load (LCL) shipping?
With FCL (Full Container Load), the unit cost is lower as you are chartering the entire container; with LCL (Less than Container Load), however, you only charter space equivalent to the volume of your cargo, which reduces the total cost for small-volume shipments. Consolidation is the priority with LCL, whilst speed and security are the main considerations with FCL.
Are there any unexpected additional costs in your freight quotes?
No. At Afex Global Logistics, we adhere to a policy of transparent pricing. By clearly detailing all potential additional costs, such as port charges (THC) and fuel surcharges (BAF/CAF), in our quotations, we ensure you do not encounter any unexpected charges at the end of the process.
What types of special cargo (dangerous goods, cold chain) do you transport?
We transport Dangerous Goods (DG) with our IATA DGR-certified specialists. We also safeguard the integrity of your cargo by offering temperature-controlled (cold chain) sea and air freight solutions for products such as pharmaceuticals, food and chemicals.
When shipping under the DDP Incoterm, who pays the import duty?
Under the DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) term, the seller (consignor) is obliged to pay all transport costs, insurance, export customs clearance and all charges in the buyer’s country, including import duties and VAT.
What are the environmental benefits of intermodal transport?
Intermodal transport minimises the number of kilometres travelled by road by utilising rail and sea transport. This is a green logistics solution that helps to reduce direct carbon emissions and fuel consumption, thereby minimising the impact on the environment.
